Halo Movie

If this has been posted before my memory sucks. From what I read this was the footage Neil Blomkamp/Peter Jackson put together to sell their version of the Halo movie. Apparently District 9 was given the green light after the studio viewed this.

Actually it was one of the clips they used to promote the Halo 3 launch. Neill was attached along with Peter Jackson to do Halo until MS dropped the project due to some conflicts with universal over the proceeds. Neither of those guys anticpate doing anything with Halo now. The good news is that MS is quietly working on something on that front and the rumor is that there is a script that they are looking at that would deal with the origins of the Master Chief and it could be Spielberg behind it. He is evidently a bit of a gamer.

I still find it amazing that it only took 30 mill to do District 9. Here is a good article/interview with him over at Dark Horizons.

Yea, Smith, I thought I talked to you about this last week. This was the Halo Landfall video they've had on XBox live in HD for quite some time. I was very impressed, very very impressed when I first saw it. You can definitely see where District 9 got it's roots from...

Apparently the body is recovering but the brain is still having issues

Especially the build of the aliens in District nine. They just look like a mixture of the Elites body with the flying creature's heads from Halo. The legs look a lot like elites. They had tons of stuff ready for Halo so I am sure they just reused a lot of it. There is a warehouse somewhere with tons of Halo stuff in it that was already made for the movie.
